MissionThe Household Energy Platform (HEP) is a public-private partnership hosted by the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority (SREDA) of the Government of Bangladesh. HEP has been formed to assist the Government of Bangladesh to realize its goal of replacing all traditional stoves with improved cook stoves in all households of Bangladesh by 2030 as envisioned in the Country Action Plan adopted in 2013.

Clean Cooking ActivitiesThe Household Energy Platform (HEP) works with member organizations who are engaged in the cookstoves and fuels sector in Bangladesh. It functions to support the dynamic needs of the sector, based on broader understanding and interest from the stakeholders. It is not a decisionmaking body for the sector; instead it fosters discussions and sends information/ recommendation/ request to respective Government/ Non-Government Agency/ Development Partner / Implementation Partner members through the HEP Secretariat.
PartnershipThe Household Energy Platform (HEP) is the relevant government entity established to raise relevant issues and speak for the entire cook stove sector in Bangladesh with one unified voice. Its members consist of NGOs, governmental agencies, and private companies who are engaged in the sector. As such, HEP will work in close liaison with GACC. As Bangladesh is an Alliance partner country, it can also play a key role in assisting the Alliance in its goal of ensuring clean cooking environment in the country as well as globally.
